OMG you guys will never guess what happened today…I guess my boss's boss got a phone call from the bank today and they told him that we were sending in marked bills and a bunch of bullshit about how it's illegal and that most of the bills had to be DESTROYED!!! So my boss told me that I had to stop stamping =~( =~( Oh well, me and Bob will just have to stamp our own and just enter the serials from work. But something interesting did come of this, now I know why I don't have more hits.
Jinxed yourself! So did you tell your boss that the bank was playing Gestapo with him? Fear tactics always work for big business, big government, etc.
Send your boss to the Bank of Canada site, or better yet, get a statement from the Currency Education Team at the Bank of Canada that stamping is not illegal. That should help smooth a few ruffled feathers.
It's important to not that the bank doesn't destroy the notes themselves, they send them away to be destroyed. But if they are in good condition when the destroyer gets them, I believe they get sent back to circulation. And that bank gets in trouble.
However, as a side note, when this new version is finished, I will try talking to Paul at the CdnPaperMoney.com site and find out who is BoC contact is. And maybe I can get a letter or something and then scan it for you guys.

Yes, I have heard that before.

I would imagine that it is someone on the Currency Education Team.
So I worked out a new system for work. I still write down all the serials and to tell which ones I've checked already I put a dot in the eye of whichever animal is on the back. So, if you come across any bills with blue or black eyes on the back then they're mine =)
I had the same problem, The Bank talked to my boss and well since I fear my boss, I will listen to what ever he says, even if it is a load of crap!
But if it were my business, I would tell the bank to deal with it because I'm not going to stop.
Hey…anyone have the link still to that article talking about the where's willy site and the quote from the bank of canada?
