Moving South

It's official!! I am moving down south…to Regina, as of Nov 1st. I found a nice little apartment in Glenelm Park.

I'll still own my house in Saskatoon, though, as I hope to be back in about 2-3 years. I have a renter for the upstairs, and I'll be keeping the basement suite for myself. This way, it gives me a place to come back to on long weekends and holidays.

RUDYK! Get me tickets for the Western Final! (LOL)

it'll be nice to have you on the sunnier side of the province! now you'll be able to answer the age-old imponderable… which is better – a circle drive or a ring road? i've always favoured the alliterative, myself.

and as much as i'd love the final to be here, i think we've a better shot at hosting the semi. and i'll be in my season's ticket spot – you may be on your own for finding ducats!

sunnier side of the province!

I am amazed by your audacity! Regina averages 2365 hours of sunlight per year compared to Saskatoon's 2381 hours!

which is better – a circle drive or a ring road?

If only Saskatoon HAD a circle! It's actually more of an asterisk. Or a fishook.

I lived in Regina for a number of years..and to answer your question about which is better?? a circle or a ring…..they are both the same…only different.

does this answer your question??

Good luck Sarge !

I prefer circle drive to ring road. During rush hour on 42nd st. you can leave your car run into Home Depot, do some shopping and return to find your car in the same place. To top it off you get to have your picture taken as you race through the lights on Ave C.

The ring road isn't exactly a complete ring either. But because of Lewvan Dr., it is more of a giant 'D'. But at least it is complete.
Once they build a south bridge on Circle dr, the circle will be finished—except some part of it will get shut down for the next 3?xsummers for repair. I doubt we will see a complete and usable circle here until 2015.

"I doubt we will see a complete and usable circle here until 2015."
There will never be a complete Circle Drive as long as we have a planning department that only plans 3 years in advance. Witness east Circle Drive, which gets ripped up and re-located every two years or so. I'd like the accounting department to deliver a total cost for the re-re-re-re development of that section of road.
Now that Mitchell's is moving, the planning department will have to shelve the last two years of planning and data collection they just went through. We might get a bridge in 20 years or so, but I doubt the circle will ever be complete.

idjit posed the musical question:
but I doubt the circle will ever be complete.

singing to sarge:

Will the Circle be unbroken
By and by, lord, by and by
There’s a better home a-waiting
In the south, lord, in the south

forgive poetic license on the lyrics! :)

ha ha rudyk…..I was thinking of that very same song as I read Idjit's post(without the lyric changes though)
