People are so funny !!…. (or stupid)…enjoy!

Now that Vancouver has won the chance to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, these are some questions people the world over are asking!!!!
Believe it or not these questions about Canada were posted on an International Tourism Website (frightening, isn't it!)

Obviously the answers are a joke; but the questions were really asked.

Q: I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow?(UK)
A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and watch them die.

Q: Will I be able to see Polar Bears in the street? (USA)
A: Depends on how much you've been drinking.

Q: I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto-can I follow the Railroad tracks? (Sweden)
A: Sure, it's only Four thousand miles, take lots of water.

A: So it's true what they say about Swedes.

A: Let's not touch this one.

Q: Are there any ATM's(cash machines) in Canada? Can you send me a list of them in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Halifax? (UK)
A: What did your last slave die of?

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada? (USA )

A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Ca-na-da is that big country to your North…oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.

Q: I have a question about a famous animal in Canada, but I forget its name. It's a kind of big horse with horns. (USA)
A: It's called a Moose. They are tall and very violent, eating the brains of anyone walking close to them. You can scare them off by spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking.

here is another famous question by americans.. :)
Q:Do you still have all 4 seasons?
A:Yes, they are Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, 4 months of BAD Skiing

Very good collection - The question I hate when travelling in the USA is "Oh - you're from from Canada , You must know my brother in Toronto then?" I have been seriously asked this kind of question at least a dozen times over the years.

Otaku

They're priceless antics. Unfortunately, they are not uncommon. Canada remains the cold mysterious North for most of the world.

It is amazing how people that don't live in Canada think that we still live "behind the moon". If they only new how much better we live then people in some european countries.

Sarge

When I was spending six months in Quebec on a french language course, I told some quebecois that we just got electricity and indoor plumbing in 1985. The sad part is, most believed me!

Lord_Comedy

Yes, it really is sad what people think & believe.
It is atleast only the uneducated & people who don't have any common sense who believe all this.
Anyone with any brains knows that Canada is actually one of the very best countries to live in.
Canada is the 3 largest country by land mass, with several million people .. I think it is around 70 million.
?? not sure now that Russia is broken up is Canada the 2nd largest land mass??

Otaku

The 2001 census gives the population of Canada at slightly over 30 million. Relative to our land mass, we are very sparsely populated.

Joycer

I think many of these Q & A were meant for comedy… the most popular question I ecountered while I was a telephone operator and when we went to Phoenix was, "Do you live in igloos or real houses?" People think that we are way up there near the North Pole.

When my sister was a border guard at Regway, she use to get american's in July asking where the snow was (they would have ski's in their cars)Or where do they park their cars and what time do the stage coaches come, and are the Indians restless today, will they attack the stage coaches!! She had a great time at the boarder!!
