I strongly believe that the advertising on this site is inappropriate. It turns a "fun" site into one that now appears to be "for profit". I believe that this will negatively impact the way that banknote tracking is perceived (it certainly has for ME). I will not be party of it.
The administrator asks that if we should find anything offensive or inappropriate that we should advise him. I find the entire concept abhorrent. But I do not presume that my lone opinion would hold much sway and consequently, I must take my leave.
While some things in this community have impacted me negatively, none have made me feel this strongly about giving it up. I choose this hill to die on. I bid adieu to the many wonderful people I have met through my association with this site. The email address on my profile will still work, if you find need to contact me. I do ask that in the unlikely event that the decision to include advertising is rescinded, that someone please contact me – I would then like to return. Farewell, my friends.

Please reconsider and give dr time to assess the impact of the ads. It may prove not to be what dr hopes it will be, we may end up going to a donation concept.
Your presence on this site is greatly appreciated and your insight and commentary are definitely needed.
I see no problems with the ads. They are not intrusive and while I love this site, the best things in life are not exactly free. Servers etc cost money as do data bases and all the other stuff that is involved. I do not see DR making a fortune from a couple of tiny inobtrusive ads. In fact I checked a couple out. This way the site remains truly "free" to use. Goodbye Rudy. I for one will miss your cynical wit.
Hope you will re-consider Rudy.. Have enjoyed your sense of humour & your thoughts and discussions on various topics & it would be a great loss to CMT to see you depart.

I hope you will reconsider rudy. Your departure would be a real loss to the site. I understand dr's logic and am certainly willing to give it a try. It seems only reasonable to me that he attempt to cover his expenses. I shall probably ignore the ads myself, just as I do ads on any other site.
okay hamlet I am not going to make any comment to this thread because I hate them. And also may I say I have reached a conclusion that we all make desicions and they are not always liked by others..darn lucky thing rudy that you are not on the bottom of this pyramid… and jack and jill came tumbling down… lalalalalala.
