Regarding the ads, please note that if you see any ads you think is inappropriate or some sort of scam or whatever, please copy the title, text and link of the ad and send it to me in a private message (or email) and I'll ensure it is never displayed again.

I see the ads box and there are definately ads in the box and they change quite frequently, but they are definately non intrusive…

Ahhhh, it seems that the Google ads are blocked on my computer at work….., I just checked my home system and it appears to display the ads properly.

They definitely don't impact on surfin' the site….

The ads look great and just filled a empty space. I hope they bring in lots of money and remain forever. The side benifits ( allowing DR to add many needed items as he see's fit) are going to be numerous. Great move dr. Not flashy or in your face ads. Great idea.

DR the ads are fine. I find them to be inobtrusive and they don't affect the usability of the site in any way. If they allow CMT to remain a free site and make you some $$'s for development & upkeep as well - all the power to you. Just don't let them take over.
For users such as rudyk - perhaps you could find a way to block the ads for a small donation….? (just don't refer to it as a 2 tier system…lol)
My 2 cents

Check my reply in the CMT forum. I promised to do that for nothing.

I know I'm a person who does not check this everyday (and I am only one small voice), but I do enjoy it.

As for the ads–I noticed them when I signed in this evening, but it didn't really 'click in' that there was an ad on this site until I started reading the forums. I forget who said it, but someone said something to the effect of ad is using some empty space; to be honest I agree, I think the pages look better now-more full, and yes, the money that will be brought in by the ads will definitely be a plus.

Being an Epileptic, I, for one, am glad that the ad is not flashing in anyway, or bright colours, or things like that. I would rather not have a heachache or worse when I'm here.

I realize that the wording of this message may be quite out of order, but I'm hoping those who read it will be able to understand what I am trying to say.

Good luck with the ad idea, DR, hope things turn out for the best.

Those little adds don't bother me at all. They are hardly noticable, unless there is an interesting headline. I think they will be alright and if they help for the site, then why not? Important is that this site keeps on going …

That is my opinion.

I have already checked out a couple of the ads related to my line of work. One of them I will be pursuing in greater detail at work during the coming week.

The ads certainly don't jump out at you and are easily enough ignored or followed as one so chooses.
