The Night before CMT Christmas (according to Idjit)

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
no computer was clicking, not even the mouse.
The stamps were all stored by the keyboard with care,
in hopes that more money soon would be there.
CMTers were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of triple hits danced in their heads;
And momma at the laptop, and I at the desk,
Had just settled down after stamping a mess,
When out from the screen there arose such a clatter,
it took two full minutes to see what was the matter.
Away to the forums I flew like a flash,
To see what had slowed the entering of cash.
The glow of the screen revealed oh, so slow
the telltale signs of the server’s ‘no-go’
Then, to my horror the truth should appear,
‘twas a smoking server, wrecked chips and bent gears.
With DR’s new server so speedy and quick,
I new this problem would never stick.
More rapid than eagles his helpers they came,
and DR whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
Now Pooga! now BC! now Calamity Janet!
On Sarge and Suzuki! On Idjit and Antics!
To the keyboards! And with instructions in hand,
They rebuilt the server, the best in the land!
As the reboot was started, and the hard drive began,
Every breath was withheld, we were watching the LAN,
And forgetting to breathe, we all turned quite blue!
The server was up! And a new version too!
And then, in a twinkling I heard on the roof
The growl of a diesel, and a might big ‘poof!’
As my chair spun around, and I looked ‘round and ‘round,
Down the chimney Nick came- weighing 300 pounds!
He busted the chimney; but that did not matter,
He knew me by name, and I was a-flattered.
A big bag was flung, and held on his back,
and he looked very merry as he opened the pack.
He withdrew some bundles, mostly tens and some fives,
all uncirculated and new, and my eyes opened wide!
“You’ve been good; I’ve watched you this year,
And you haven’t been drinking way too much beer,
so I’ve brought you ten thousand, I hope you can spend,
only after you’ve entered and stamped it!” he said.
“No problem! I’m on it! I’ll do it before bed!”
Not one more word need to be said.
As my keyboard was clicking, and the stamps busy too,
He went up the chimney, for a big guy, he flew!
His diesel was started, and soon out of sight,
saying, “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.”

Merry Christmas Everyone!
