I am having a problem with Msn Messenger, and don't really know what else to do. Basically, about a week and a half ago I updated Msn, and now i can't sign in. It was running perfectly fine before the update. When i run the trouble shooter, It says there is a problem with the "Hosts File" and "Key Ports". The two error codes i keep getting are 80072efd, and 80048820. I have tried EVERYTHING i can think of, and everything else is working fine. I just cannot sign in. If anyone with knowledge about this program had any ideas please HELP!!!

System restore or try new passport. Restore worked for me when I downloaded the new version and could not sign in. Stick with the older version until you find the problem. I just use the older version, does what I need it to so I just use it.
I don't use MSN messenger anymore, but isn't there a "help" e-mail address where you could ask what you can do? Maybe they are still trying out the new version and have a "fix" to download to solve that problem.

Or better yet, get a Jabber account and you can talk to everyone no matter what IM service they use… sorta.
