I am pleased to report that as of today, I've made $100.04, which means that Google at some point in the next month or so will deposit that money into my account. I would say that overall I was disappointed with the results, especially given that it took 2.5 months to get to this point and more so given that based on averages it will take even longer for the next $100.
As such, and being true to my word, I will be removing the ads at the end of the month or so. Anyone who know someone who quit because of the ads can feel free to let them know, but that notification won't come from me. To all who suffered through the past 3 months of Google ads, thanks for being patient with the trial.

The ads have NOT bothered me at all. Why could you not continue with the ads? In my opinion, $100.00 is $100.00 more than you were making before. I am however, in no way trying to tell you how to run and maintain this site. I really enjoy the site and am grateful for all the work you do on it dr. Conk

But it is your decision and you do as you wish as long as we can continue to enjoy the site…
I find the ads very unobtrusive & have actually found some interesting things in them. They filled in an empty space & I'll actually miss them.
I also looked at a few things in the ads and did in fact find one very useful. a hundred dollars is not a lot, but it is better that a swift kick! thats 20 fives to mark and enter, LOL. Up to you though. Maybe first hand ads would go over better. Rather than google collecting big money from the advertisers, you collect it. How much does one pay for an online ad anyhow?
I never found the ads bothersome. It is all up to DR if he keeps them.
The ads were much less intrusive than I thought they would be, and like some of the others, I actually enjoyed reading a few of them, but- I'll accept any executive decision… now can I send you some support money?

yea, I agree with the rest of ya's on the subject - why throw away free money? 100 bucks is 100 bucks, and they certainly aren't in the way.
Dr if it is no extra work for you or bothers you, why don't you just keep the google adds. Just let them run their way on the site and collect whatever comes in?
I did not find the ads intrusive, HOWEVER, I did find that they:

Did slow down the screen display time.

Scared me in that they may draw the attention of the BoC.

Was contrdictory to dr's original statement that this site would 'never' accept ads. (Lesson learned: Never say "never"?)

never is a long time and some of us change with the times pooga , i remember when a beer plant was closing and rumors spread that a local group was going to take it over. lots said it would never happen… and it did. then the big boys said they will never make it and they did.
so i guess on this you are correct never say never.
I recommend you keep the ads and accept any $'s they generate for you as the founder of this site.
Anyone who choses to leave the site over a change you have made on your site is of course free to do so.
I for one give you kudos for your dedication, so we as players on your site can enjoy money-tracking.
