Is there more than one way to receive a hit?

Just wondering?? Recently was going through my hits and was coming up one short of the amount that CMT says I have. The other day, got a hit notification but could never find it. Turns out it was a hit for someone else although I previously hit the bill as well, so why did I receive the hit also??

You receive a hit because once you hit a bill you become a "co-owner" of the bill in the spotlight.

A good reason to always enter and spend any marked bills you find - no one complains about an extra hit or two!
