AHH! The village of Blumenort. Both my great-great-grandfather and my great-grandfather settled there when the village was founded in 1874 by Mennonites who immigrated from what is now the Ukraine. Primarily it was founded by Friesens, Reimers amd Penners or their extended families. The actual location on MapQuest is incorrect. It is in fact located about 25 miles SE of Winnipeg and only about 3 miles north of the city of Steinbach.

I never take what mapquest says as accurate. Blumenort IS in Mb. as Conk says. Living in Wpg., I should know that. You'll find lots of Penners, Friesens, and Reimers in Southern Mb. Nice hit Pooga! :)
