I have updated the server to use a new connector between the web server and the Java Servlet engine. I think that this should solve the time out issues people have been having as I believe the old connector was the culprit.

seems like you got it! pages are loading very quick for me now, without fail. Well done!
Ack.. sorry dr… i don't see a change on my end..
3:45pm CST … 34 online… took 8 tries to get logged in… and close to a minute to enter bills.
It was good for a day or so. I'm finding that it is back to loading really slow again. IF it loads at all. On some pages, after a minute or so, I just stop and reload, but even that takes a while.
For me it worked fine yesterday, today slow repsonse and a couple of Gateway timeout errors
I'm still getting slow pages as well, but only occasionaly. There is still the weird page that has different font.
I noticed that the 'back' key doesn't work anymore. I get "page has expired" message. his will be a pain when we enter a brick of uncirculated sequential bills. Unless DR can create a 'bulk entry' function… :)
I too also have had experiences with really slow pages loading. To read aprox. 24 forums took me about a hour
Well I can honestly say I have never experienced any of the above problems. Perhaps i just missed it by my timing of logging on and the time i was on the site. Is this a general problem with the site, or is it only certain users experiencing this problem?
Well dr, it seems that what you've done has made an improvement on my computer. It's not yet back to normal, but things are alot better. (i was having all the same problems as everyone else and it's not happening as much now)
its worse now on my end. I get that larger font page more often and its slower. much much slower. plus I keep getting the page cannot be displayed message.
Worse here as well. Veerrry slow when loading pages to check hits.
I have seen babies crawl faster than the pages load on the site. Today it took almost a hour to add 5 bills to the system. Some people may think this is acceptable ,I for one dont have that kind of time to waste.
If we need a new server put in place then lets take up a collection and replace the one that is the culpert of our grief.
try removing the ads… don't remember many complaints about the site being slow or doing strange things before they showed up.
yer welcome… :)
more convinced than ever! i just posted that last msg and the site hung for 90 seconds with only the ads not appearing – then when it reappeared, the formatting was awry. yup… can the ads and the site will be fine… they are the devil's spawn.
It is probably not the server that is the problem, I believe that dr had indicated it was a connection problem. Hopefully he will be able to track it odwn and resolve it once and for all…..

RUDY!! Glad to see you back (if even only for a short time)…..
I don't think the ads are the problem. The site was working fine for months after they had been put in place. It has only been in the last few weeks that the problems have really popped up. Hopefully dr can track down the problem and get things back to normal, ads or no ads.
Today Sat. 8 at around 09:30 BC time till now 10:13 i have just sailed through all my forum threads (92) checked out hits etc… no prob. now going to add some notes
I was just about gonna post that I don't have any problems, when a page came up "Firefox can't connect to the page". When I used the back arrow I got back to the page and it works fine now. I had those pages with the big letters suddenly showing up too the last times when I was in the forums. But entering bills there was never a problem for me.
