Regina Gathering Minutes

We finally had our Regina gathering. Apparently, it has been more than a year since the last one.

Everyone arrived within a few minutes of 7:00, with two more people than I had expected. Naturally, I was holding a table for six, so there was some confusion at first as restaurant staff moved tables around to accommodate us.

After placing our orders, and later with food on the table, numerous topics were discussed. Unfortunately, I was focussed on discussion at my end of the table, so I didn’t pick up on all of the topics covered at the other end, but here is a sample:

Antics brought up the topics of toilets, Alzheimers, male strippers, and washing old peoples bums.

Joycer spoke about working in a flower shop with Mother’s Day coming up, and how busy it was.

A natural topic for all trackers, discussion about coolers and wines, and some of the new coolers coming on the market this summer.

We also talked about the poor quality of some foods at a popular large Canadian ‘Awesome’ Store. Things, particularly fish, that could potentially spoil without refrigeration have been seen left on the loading dock without being put into refrigerated areas. (Notice my diversionary word to avoid a directly insulting a REALly large chain and a potential lawsuit. Pull out your thesaurus for other words for ‘awesome’)

Also food related, there was a trick of cooking duck, chicken and/or turkey together, so that the grease from the duck will be absorbed into the other, improving both. I also mentioned the 32oz hamburger at the Hotel Saskatchewan, and if you eat it all, you get it for free. The trick is they spice it so heavily that you can’t finish it! Lord_Comedy mentioned the Serb Burger at the Serbian Club.

Back on the booze topic, Jagermeister came up (just like the first time I drank it).

We finally broke up a few minutes before 9:00, with a promise to do it again in three months. Lord_Comedy suggested that we try the Mongolian Diner next time, at which point I appointed him host for the next gathering.

Great minutes and a great gathering. Thanks to all who atteneded, it was a blast. It was a pleasure to meet Sarge, and I look forward to our next gathering.

it was fun, why did we wait so long?? Too bad I had to rush to get to work.

So did you happen to talk about the Provincial Gathering at all?

Yes… I asked Antics if she could come and she said that it will depend on her schedule. She is on nights right now and the day girls are asking her to go on days. She said they need a few laughs on the day shift. Yep, she'll keep them laughing! I had a great evening with her and Mr & Mrs Secret on my end of the table. Good thing they told the jokes and stories because I was too beat from the loads of work and customers at the flower shop I was temp at. Just put your request in now for that day off Antics!

Sorry Pooga no discussion on who can bring what.
Maybe in a seretate from attendance forum make a list of everything needed & members can speak up for bringing it.

only if jd kidnaps me, will i be there … other than that happening i will be absent as usual.
