Mother’s Day! (now that the cat is out of the bag)
How was everyone’s Mother’s Day? Mine was not short of excitement. First I get a phone call to see if I have a car they could borrow. My son’s girlfriend’s car was parked and someone rear ended it and took off – pushed it up onto the sidewalk! My other son comes home with a 32 inch Lcd TV/monitor for his computer – seems he had an accident while showing his friend his air soft gun – shot a hole in his 17 inch Sony LCD screen. He then proceeded to put his Amp and his huge Cerwin Vega speakers into his bedroom (from our rumpus room big screen) My other son was pretty upset because he loved putting on the tunes for his home workout sessions. We enjoyed and missed them too. So of course I felt upset for him too. Later, the first son and GF comes over for supper with a card that I couldn’t read because I didn’t have my glasses on… while squinting and trying to read the words it said:
Can’t love ‘em enough,
can’t cuddle ‘em enough
can’t spoil ‘em enough.
Then inside I was trying to make out the rest and it said:
Enjoy every little moment
Of being a first-time gr#@%^ I couldn’t see so I got my middle son to read it and he said the word was “grandma”
Happy Mother’s Day.
I was absolutely pleasantly surprised – I had no clue except that the GF would not even have a sip of a beer, which was pretty unusual. All along I thought my son was being pretty strict for not even letting her have one beer - the joke was on me. I didn’t have a clue or even suspect. Even the small weight gain I chalked up to her recently quitting smoking. So a big congrats to LC and Mrs LC. I am pretty excited to be a first time Grandma too!

Congratulations Granny-to-be Joycer!

The alcohol consumption during pregnancy is still controversial though..

Check out this PDF from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists…

To quote:
The Midwives Information and Resource Service (MIDIRS) in their evidence-based advice to women, updated in 2003, said that ‘pregnant women should be advised to keep to the guidelines of no more than one or two units once or twice a week. Women can be reassured that light infrequent drinking constitutes no risk to their baby’.

In Joycer's eventful Mother's Day she forgot to add that I gave my GF A nice Diamond heart pendant, an early Birthday gift. Then they were both crying together!
