Ok, how about on a different level, something a little happier. This is just for the 'old farts'!
Where were you when Henderson scored?
I was watching the game in the TV room of the boarding school I went to (it was also known as a good hockey school). Our English teacher was a hockey nut, and was a Detroit prospect back in the 1950's, so he wanted to watch as well, even if it was during his class. I remember everyone in the room just jumping out of their seats and screaming!
I was a twinkle in my perants eye..
Your 'perants' probably weren't old enough to even have a 'twinkle' at that time!
Doin't know where I was. Don't know who Henderson is or when he scored. But on another Sad note. Where were you when J.F.K. was shot in Dallas. I was in Grade Twelve And I remember on of our buds came to school after lunch and said J.F.K. was shot and killed and we didn't believe him. I was on second floor at Balfour Tech in 4j at the time. How about you?????
BDKINGSTON that should be part three. I was listening to the game with a mini transistor radio and earphone as my social studies teacher wouldn't let us watch the game when Henderson scored I jumped out of my desk that was pretty much the end of the class.
JFK- I don't remember exactly what I was doing, but we were living in Chelmsford, ON, (near Sudbury). I do remember reading all the newspaper articles on it, and watching the funeral on TV. It made an impression on a 7 year old. Awed by the pomp and circumstance. Felt sorry for Caroline and John-John.
Perents? Look whos spelling wrong now.
Henderson, I was in Anatomy class. JFK, I was on my way home for lunch, Grade 7 I think. Wooee, I'm not the oldest on this site.
It's my birthday today. Another roundtrip around the Sun.
I wish I had some of Pooga's HoneyWheat Beer to celebrate.
Happy birthday, Serotonin. If you had enough HoneyWheat Beer, we'd all celebrate with you!
Thanks Idjit. I'm still on. The Australian Cabernet is doing a good job. It tastes ' healthy'.
I make my own wine. If I had known, I would have sent you a bottle of my 'hooch'. I still might. You'll find it is a 'petulent little wine with a nice bouquet'.
A Saskatchewan vintage. No doubt, a keeper.
Happy Birthday serotonin..You youngster..I guess I am the oldest one on this site…Hope you had a great day..
Happy Birthday S!
No HW, but I hope you enjoyed the the Light.
BTW, Honey Wheat and our Extra Gold (9%) ARE available in Alberta now. I have seen them at the Great Canadian Liquorstore (Supervalu)
