In honour of rudyk, who left for various reasons, I would like to organize a Rudyk Day. But it's not what you think… instead, it's a day or perhaps a weekend where everyone goes through the entries, hits and users and picks out the ones which are either blatent abuse of the system or are certainly questionable. Then I'll take the list, double check, and terminate all the bad entries, hits and users.
However, in order to make this work, I need probably three lieutenants, who would volunteer to receive the emails lists of bad stuff. Those three would then get together and sort their lists and combine them into a single list which could be given to me.
Does that sound like an idea that is workable?

It sounds like a good idea dr, I think just about all of the users on your site would be glad to help you out with some sorting of the hits & entries. Sign me up for what ever you need me to do. Do you still need help with the email back log?

YES! This sounds like a plan as long as the three lieutenants are the correct three. Now being as level headed as you are DR. I am sure that you will elect the three lieutenants with a sound mind being sure to eliminate those with animosity ,petty grudges and prejudice. Maybe you need a few members at large to help you elect your Judges … SORRY Lieutenants. This undertaking will be massive and I for one am happy to see you undertake this long overdue action. Good Luck and please may you make your choices carefully.

I can't be a chief or anyone…..well as I have said in the past I will just sit on the curb and watch the winners go by. After viewing all the posts,it seems to me you may have too many chiefs and not enough Indians…….. :-)

i believe, as dubious honouree of this particular initiative, that is a fine and restorative step to the integrity of the community here. I also believe that you could very easily take the first 5 respondents to this thread and have them act with impunity, as an ad hoc committee (with consulation with its originator, of course). i believe them all to be of exceptional character and integrity.
Not to really disagree with anyone.. as there are many hits that should be .. Thrown out.
But Dr has not been going though the hits and sending them to Hit heaven for such a eriod of time.. Maybe it is better to have the committee look at hits from now on. & keep a list of them.
Dr can look at these specific hits on a regular basis & eliminate them.
Then if there are any users that have excessive numbers of hits to hit heaven, Those users hits should be gone though.
I just think with the number of hits the S**T HIT Committee would have to go though is just too many
It is a good idea, just a little bit of a waste of time, as many of the ceaters that have multi hits & those multi hits from 1 user only … HAVE QUIT!
I try to be a good neighbor. I don't worry what the next neighbor does or doesn't do. I enjoy this site for what I see in it. I enter a few bills, see if I get a few hits and where from, thank them when possible, read the forums for pleasure and check to see where I stand. I am not upset if I drop in score a little. I don't check everyone elses hits and entries. I seek this website for pure pleasure of the friends made, the forums and interest of where my bills are going. Who is anyone to say whether a hit is legit or not and who cares? I didn't know that I needed a Criminal Justice degree to be a member.

I care. It comes down to the integrity of the site and the accuracy of the data. If we don't police it, the data and the results derived from them will be skewed.

Perhaps it is time to revisit and update what is and is not acceptable in terms of entry of hits.
Personally I feel that there is nothing wrong with multiple hits from the same individual if it is part of a legitimate transaction. My view on this is different from when I first started on the site, but at the beginning I was entering small numbers of bills.
Is not the whole idea of the site to track the bills that we mark and spend. Admittedly there is room for abuse on this as well but before we go off and start removing hits that someone elsemay feel is not legit.
The process needs to be clearly defined based on a clear set of criteria.
Ok while we're on the topic of legit hits and "s**t" hits, i have a question. Is there anything stopping a user from entering new bills, keeping those #'s for awhile, then say entering one here and there as anonymous under a different postal code or at a different computer? If not, how do you distinguish those fake anonymous hits from the legit anonymous hits? If indeed all hits are going to be gone through and what not, how can one say if an anonymous hit is a legit one or not? If you look at the profile for anonymous there are a vast number of hits there.

You are right & some people would suffer more than other people. More or less it happens the other way round.. someone hots the bill as anonymous then signs up & boom 5 minutes after the 1st hit is a user hit.
These hits can be self-policed, by honest people. I know I have a couple that I emailed Dr about & never got removed.
I don't remember the bill Id anymore, BUT
I want to update my page, thus going though all my hits & I would find them.
