Would it at all be possible to impliment a system where the first person to register a bill into the system would be able to enter a scan of the bill tehy are entering? You could also allow for future people to come into contact with the bill to attach a scan (like the comment) so you can keep track of the condition of the bill or just for compairisons sake!
This may require the server to upgrade its hard drive to something a bit larger, and it might require you to limit the file size/dimension of the image being uploaded but I think it would be well worth it!
that would be a neat idea if there was some sort of mark, something written, or some little drawing on the bill.
Interesting, but when you start entering 100-200 notes a day, you really don't have the time to start fooling around with scanning them in as well!
Yeah, I'd agree, but I think it would still be a cool feature to have so you could keep track of the condition of the bill.
It would reduce the speed of the site every time you click on a bill, and would require significant changes to hardware.
I don't think the speed sacrifice or costs of hardware change are worth the emotional gains. If you want, why not scan the bills you receive and store the image on your computer?
I'm aware that speed may be an issue, but it may not be if correct hardware + service changes were taken. Using an external hosting service for the pictures would be one solution. I'm mearly asking/inquiering about the ability to add a link in the "detail" section of a note where you can link a URL to a scan of the bill. I think it would be really neat.
Also the scanning of bills is not so I can keep track of what bills I have stamped…..its to keep track of a bills condition over time as multiple users get it.
Scanning all bills would be teadiese.. ( sp?)
But a positive thouhgt to scanning a bill..
Alot of trackers out there have found stamped money.. & entered it to find NO hit..
This would help find whose original bills these were.
It wouldn't give a time frame of when the owner had the bill though.. unless the owner had many stamps / stamping procedures.. that would be able to follow a time line.. roughly
Over the 3 years I been around, Roughly, I have had 3 stamps.. & found better spots to put stamps on bills.. @ double stamped some bills.. & have done different things with them over periods of time.
So if someone found one of my bills it would pinpoint when those bills were stamped.Roughly
