Hello, I've been entering bills for a while now but only just recently explored the rest of the website. I started entering bills before there was a daily limit and I think it was easier to get hooked then, than it is now that you can only enter 5 bills a day.
Well I guess this is a belated welcome from Moose Jaw! We are glad to see that you are coming back to enter more bills. The reason for the user limits is to curb abuse by some people. If you have quite a few bills to enter you can email dr and ask to have your limit increased. But you have to ask nicely.
Welcome ksd794 from Saskatoon. Keep on markin and trackin…
Pray to the hit-god that He may be kind to you and bless you with more entries and frequent hits. Spread the word so that others may follow. Hail \(\)$!
All you gotta do is ask, and usually (if your track record is clean) I'll increase your limit. Anyway, "ksd794," I've set your limit so that it's unlimited now.
In response to getting hooked, I think that things are okay the way they are… since June 1, 2002, there have been 1368 new users. Of those new users, only 368 even bothered to enter in a bill of their own (ie. not a bill that produced a hit). And of those 368, only 114 of them even reached the daily limit. And of the 114 people that reached the daily limit, only 36 of them never came back to enter any more bills. Which means that 78 people came back. And of those 78 people, 39 have entered in 20 or more bills. Anyway, the point is that I think, for the most part, the people that get hooked are hooked by the first bill and will come back the next day and the next. The people with only casual interest come back once in a while or not at all, and that's okay by me. Because, as I have stated before, the people we want hanging around here are the people who have a genuine interest in tracking their money and it shouldn't take 100 or even 10 bills to do that. It should only take that first bill. :)

For ever and ever AMEN !!!!!!!!!
Yep. And I figured it out, about 3% of new users stay with us. Thats not that bad.
Amen to the amens! But I do wonder: Are members' accounts deleted if they fail to show any activity on the website for a long period of time (you know, like with an E-mail address), and if so, how many days/months/years? I just wondered if there were any parameters to keep the site from accumulating thousands of members who only come in once or twice and then never go on again.
Nope, your account will never be deleted. As far as I know/remember, Dr wants to keep them in case the person is inactive for a while, and they want to go back, they'd be screwed.
Yup that's true the account will not be deleted but the users point will deminish until they log back on and enter more bills..
