Riders & Eskimos

I'm going to the Rider game Saturday night. Any other CMTers who are going, contact me, maybe we can get together for victory drinks later.

Victory drinks ??? So does this mean your cheering for the Eskimos?

I am in the Midst of moving.
So I doubt I will be going.I hope the blackout is lifted I do want to watch the game.
I do have tickets to the Montreal Game.
I should be at home & my house is a 2 minute walk from taylor field. If you are on the east / north side.
North End zone is on 9th Ave. My house is the corner of 9th ave & Rae St. 1581 Rae St.
Pop on in if you want, after the game.
Side note. ( hope you don't mind a house in a little disarray I am moving )

I'll likely park by the Armoury on Elphinstone and walk over.

I'll be at the game Sarge. I usually go to the practice field for a burger and a beer before the game (usually 1 1/2 to 2 hours before). Maybe I'll see you there. If not, I'll be in my usual spot on the south wheelchair ramp on the 25 yard line.

I intend to be a little early too, just to make sure I get a highly visible parking spot near the Armoury. (So the FOR SALE signs on the side of my old truck will be seen). I'll wander over to the practice field if early enough.

okay now first i would love to support the riders as they are the saskatchewan team …but look at the players and tell me are they a saskatchewan team or are they only based in saskatchewan. now the team itself is saskatchewan and we have brought in a lot of out of province players (i would say talent but that would be a lie) but for some reason the team has a hard time bringing home wins. now i do not watch the games or follow them as my time is spent on other things. i did attend the last grey cup in regina and found the stands cold and windy …so i left the game and went to the armed forces club (army & navy or legion which ever was across the papking lot) and enjoyed a warm drink in front of their big screen tv to watch the game on a warm soft couch out of the cold and wind… the ice cubs who went to the game with me joined me there after the game. sitting in the cold stands needing a scope to see the game on my birthday was not my idea of fun so left to have a better view of the game on a tv set. support ya i gave support for years now i have come to face the truth.

Was it a small white building to the west of Taylor Field? That would have been the Royal United Services Institute you went to (RUSI for short). Not associated with the Legion, or Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans Association. I am a member there. So is the Lt Gov, and the Queen. Sort of a more exclusive club…(LOL)

sorry sarge was way back in the 90"s and all i know is direct west had them put on a hot meal for us after the game and i just took to getting their early. was a great meal fine drinks had a nice bar and tv sitting room amd another big room off to the side. i do remember it was a military organization but what the actual name was i am not sure. that is back when i did drink and direct west had poured the booze on strong on that day. date was nov. 19th. year ??? (when ever the grey cup was held in regina in 90's ).

That does sound like the place.

after some thought i think the building was white and it was within a short walk from the stadium. the people were very friendly and even allowed me to bill the direct west bar tab even though i was 1 1/2 hours early. thanks for the correction sarge.
