People Don't like Big Bills. It is scary having big bills. And when people do get them they either bank-deposit them ($50's and $100's are likely to be given as pay for manual labourers and other members of the "gray" economy), or spend them, and working in retail I know that those too go to the bank. Also $50's and $100's are not convenient, the ATM gives cash in multiples of $20's, if you use a $100 you are not likely to get a $50 in change, and nowadays people are suspicious of large bills (tell me that you haven't seen a store window which posts "We do not accept $50 or $100 bills). Anyway I think I should get back to studying… For an interesting insight into money and society look up the widespread literature of political economy theory.
Interesting stuff creed..I don't feel that way but it does make some sense if you think about it…
If there is anyone out there who is scared of their 50's or 100's, send them to me and I will take care of them for you…

-why make em if you cant spend em
We are obviously a nation of paranoinds. It's probably why the $1,000 is so scarce. I haven't seen one on 20 years, and understand that you actually have to sign for them.
They stopped issuing them in 2000. When the BoC gets them, they're destroyed.
The 1000 dollar bill is no more when they get to the bank they have to send them in for destruction. It is because of the money launderers that they got rid of the 1000.
Hmmmm…I guess they'll become collectable/valuable then, in a few years…but as If I would save it!!!
