I've always found that most message threads should simply have one level; that is, there is the original message and any replies below that. So that's how the forum is now. However, as the forum gets more and more traffic, I'm wondering if things wouldn't be easier if the forum supported multiple levels, that is that a reply to a message shows up "one level" below that message rather at the end of all the replies. This would help things make a little more sense when a person replies to several messages, becuase right now all their replies show up in a row at the bottom. With a new, multi-level system each reply would show up underneath the message they were replying to.
What does everyone think I should do (assuming you understood what I just wrote)… change the forum or keep it the way it is?

I like the way it is now. I use other boards from time to time, and I find multiple levels to be a pain in the butt, especially when people get confused and reply on the wrong level. Considering the way our threads often go off on a tangent, I'm certain this would happen to us too.
I like it the current way. Often times messages are in the wrong forum. Imagine wrong forum, wrong level!
I like it the way i is now. Another option is a little arrow and that u can click and it shows all the messages
I like the idea of the message showing up under the one you are replying to rather than at the end of the string as it would make things a lot easier to follow and would also get rid of the need to copy a message and paste it in your own message to make it clear what you are responding to. I think that is what you are talking about DR and like I said I think it is an excellent idea..AN example to clerify..someone starts a forum message and gets 5 responses but I wish to respond to a comment one of the repondents made so I click on their message and my message shows up dirctly under theirs not at the end of the string… That is what you mean is it not DR??
I would also like the multilevel reply columns. They could keep the messages more organized.
I personally dont care about the level, but what I do want is a button in the message box (beside REPLY) that takes you to the next message. I dont like scrolling down all the time to find a particular next message. Probably will only be "next message in the strand" but oh well

WW has the multilevel message thing, and it is a pain in butt to try to follow. Actually worse than our off-tangent messages.
But I do like the "next" unread message idea. But keep it in the same forum. I'd rather go back a level than end up reading messages in the next forum if I don't read that forum.
A 'next message' button is a good idea. Also how about a 'expand message list' and maybe a search topic key like how Yahoo has it.
You see, this is what I like about this site. The users get a say in the website, so it gets better and better, not worse like most sites.
I have no idea what the multi-level thing is about, so I don't realy care. But I do like Mmmbeers ldea. And I hate the way WW is set up.
I suggested the NEXT deal last year, no one took interest, but Ill add it and so on..
Pooga stated that it would switch between forums, I didn't plan on it, just the same forum, or topic..
Another idea for the forum is to have a little button to make links or let the window make the http://www.cdn-money.com/whatever live so we just have to click on it.
