Has anyone ever had the bank or a bank employee notice that
the bills you're giving them are stamped? If so, did they say anything about it?

I took 240 dollars into the bank in fives and of corse they were all stamped.. The bank teller was almost not going to take my bills.. He thought they were counterfiet, and when i explained to him they weren`t and the stamp was a web site etc, he went on about how it was illeagal and i should do it, bla, bla, bla..
After about 10 minutes of my time, he finally put the money in my bank account.

I mentioned it once before, but it must be in the archived messages…
I had a lot of trouble once, but I simply pointed out that bank employees are always stamping or writing on bills. (She got pretty huffy about THAT).
If they even begin to complain, I ask them if they know the law, which invariably, they don't. So I just use the line from the FAQ section about defacing the bill means rendering it illegible.
Yup, or you could say: "I see, does your manager know you are giving me a hard time about depositing money here???", or "Well lookee there!, I never noticed them stamps at all! Thanks fer showin' me! What a great idea!" One more reason to get yore cash from a machine…
I have a 1991 version of the Criminal Code, and checked for something about defacing notebanks. Couldn't really find anything. But I also found an unofficial website from the government:
