Want list

dr, these are what we called the 'want list' and came out of the Saskatoon Gathering. Rather than put it on the dev site, we thought that we would put it here and get your comments publicly as well as other user comments.

1. The ability to enter older bill series. Such $1, $2 and older $20 notes, etc. Email to you just gives you more work, and new users may not know about it. Just increase the enter options to be similar to the search options. (This will take a bit of programing and research as that would include a lot of old prefixes and legal numbers).

2. Ability to add a bill outside the country. The drop down now just says Canada, and you need a PC. How about an option 'Other' which would open a write-in blank? We don't want to miss anything in Hawaii or the Caribbean this winter!

3. The message pages are too short for the number of messages we do nowdays. Double the length of the pages, but only in conjunction with the 'next new message' button that was discussed in the past.

4. The bill scans you have are really quite useful, and interesting. How about a link to them from either the 'user' section or the FAQ?

5. Hit heaven - Everyone would like to see reasons for bills being sent to hit heaven. We can see the obvious ones… 1-2 minutes apart, <a href= http://www.cdn-money.com/cdnmoney/servlet/cmtViewBill?ID=269870 target=_new> example</a> etc… but some are in hit heaven, and we don't know why.

Those are good points. I like them.

As I was at the gathering, I agree with this list.

Add all of those to the dev bug tracker please. My comments:

1. Okay. However, I don't want to confuse the entry screen with older stuff, so I will add a seperate page or something that allows older bills to be entered. I will also only allow people at a certain level to enter older bills as there will be no validation of the serial number.

2. I think that's in the bug tracker already, and it is certainly on my mind to do.

3. Okay, I'll increase the message page size. Perhaps I will add a user option that allows you to set the number you want to view per page and/or have an option to set the number per page on the message view screen.

4. Okay, not sure where the best place for that is.

5. Umm, I can't promise this right away, but I will add the ability for me to add comments when I move a bill to hit heaven. I also plan to have an email sent out when a bill is sent to hit heaven.

Would it be hard to set up the message board to allow us to use real smiley's. You know, those animated gif's?

Do you mean you want the system to enterpret a ":)" and replace it with an image of a smiley? If so, I could probably do that. Add it to the development bug tracker.

How about images of coins instead?

I don't know how I feel about them things. I think they are cute at first anyway. I saw some the other day that were pretty elaborate: One firing a machine gun, one that turns into the 'Tasmanian Devil', then dissappears, a pyromaniac one that looks both ways, then lights a match…

Now there is something I would like! I'll vote for coins!

We could have an option to turn off the images, if the user is annoyed. Ive been to MBs where you can turn them off so insterad of the picture thay are the normal :)

The on off option is a good one as those who do not like the gifs could turn them off…I'll vote for that.

I think it would be cool if the faces on the coins(Queen,Beaver,etc…)were animated or maybe given smileys.

how about we add one of thoes little messages that folollows the cursor around and are relly annoying.
