My goodness, with Google Maps, Wikipedia and all the rest of the information available on the Internet, along with several excellent search engines, kids today should have no problems doing reports and essays!
The only things they have to do is re-assemble, analyze and print it!
No staying late in the school library, no hopping on the bus to go to the Public Library (and going back home to get something that you forgot!), no pecking away at an old typewriter, no more 'cut and paste' from magazines and newspapers. Heck, they don't even have to print it… save it as a PDF and e-mail it to the teacher! Sure would be nice to be back in school now.
If I knew then what I know now (AND had the Internet)… school should have been a no stress life. No major financial worries (mom & dad looked after it), no worries about food or lodging (mom & dad looked after it), and the entire summer off (not to mention other days during the year)! What a life!
dr, maybe what we need is a new feature… personal blogs. And if you have the capacity… vlogs!
