I have noticed a huge increase the volume of new fives coming through my store - It has been approx 70% new fives to 30% old fives since the new year - Has anyone else noticed this trend - I hope they haven;t been yanking the old ones out of circulation that fast !! - gonna have to order a stamp from gouche92 soon cause hand marking new fives just ain't gonna work much longer.

Get the Stazon ink. Works great. As Jerbear said, use the Stazon ink refills in your regular stamper, but remove it and cover it as soon as you're done so that it doesn't dry out. Or use the Stazon pads like I do, and move the stamp to the old-fashioned handled variety.
In Red Deer the bank tellers are still handing out old $5's. And once in a while, a few old $10's.
An A & W here, however, has stopped taking the old $5's, so if that's all you have you're out of luck.
I'm still hand-marking my money with a ball-point pen, usually blue.
I've noticed only about 10%-15% of the $5 bills I've been getting are new ones … which is ok with me, because I am also not overly happy about writing on the bills!
Anyone will take them, if they know it's that or nothing… I wish I was in that town, education is my specialty.
I've got the StazOn ink, and my new stamp will be ready on Monday. I wasn't able to locate the StazOn cleaner. What else would you suggest using to keep my stamp clean?
Gene I was using alcohol and some old lighter fluid before I got the cleaner. It did a decent job.
Good luck with your new stamp. Make sure you practice with it first. As Pogga had mentioned it will smear if you don't have exact and precise pressure.
Happy Tracking !
And one bonus of Stazon…
… it even sticks to the tape you use to repair notes!
Got my new stamp yesterday ("Follow the money www.cdn-money.com"). Didn't get a chance to try it today as I was in a poker tournament immediately after work. Marked some bills tonight with the StazOn and I have to say I'm impressed! Can't wait to try it on one of the new $5s
Hi, I have a trodat stamp and it was cheap from grand and toy and works well. You have to let the ink DRY before use.
