The site is now running on a 'virtual server' hosted by VPSLink, who are somewhere in Seattle. The cost for this service is about the same as before, except that I no longer have to worry about hardware or power failures or internet interruptions or about the site going down while I'm away for whatever reason. With the site hosted where it is, I have full control over the virtual server (I installed Gentoo Linux again) and I can essentially do everything I can do now, except I can do it from anywhere in the world. If the server needs a reboot I can do that with the click of the mouse from a webpage. Brilliant. But the best part of this move is that there should be little, if any, downtime.
Please let me know if you experience any issues in the next few weeks. The new server is about the same in terms of performance so there should be any noticeable difference in terms of site speed.
And for those who care, the site used to be hosted on my own server connected to a Telus Business Internet connection.

THANKS DR. I for one do not care how you make the system work only that you make it work. Your talents to set up and run this site is one that I appreciate. Your site has supplied many hours of enjoyment for me over the past three years. Thank you for your dedication and hours upon hours of work to keep it running. Just one note. It takes quite a while to logon. Some pages have a bit of a hiccough before they load, and only once in a while, but the logon page is always slow.
I too have found the logon page very slow and I also had trouble with entering bills. It would take approx. 30 to 40 seconds after every bill I entered.
I've had no problems with entering notes. The logon page is a bit slow, usualy about 20-25 seconds.
The problems that I have noticed today is that I can not send Anon Email (tried multiple times and kept getting an error message) or use the buttons on the side for posting (as mentioned in a previous post 'Glitches' Did you get a chance to look at that problem dr?).
I also did not receive an email notification of a hit I got today and I did check my settings to make sure that they were set properly.
Some of the lists are not refreshing daily for example the 'Number of Notes Entered' page.

It seems that notifications are not being sent out for private mail as well.
I'll have email notifications fixed tonight. Not sure about the login issue; will have to look into that. I made some hotfix changes last week so maybe it's related.

Okay, email notifications and such should be back to normal now. And the stats page is back though the graphs still aren't working – that will have to wait as it's now 2:30am and I need sleep. :)

Anybody else experiencing problems with the Picture thing in the Profile area??.. Cant seem to add anything in there, It wont save it.. When I try - it says success yet nothing shows up..
Try uploading your picture now… there was a diretcory permission problem.
