the only way that society improves is through the hopes of our young or young in spirit. society DOES improve or else it would not have existed as long as it has. i deal with "society's future" on a day-to-day basis and i am frequently and significantly wrenched from my usual pessimism by their vision and potential. it is the jaded of the previous generations that i wouldn't mind seeing dismissed. shame on you pooga, and all your ilk, for that perspective.

True. But at times that improvement may seem imperceptible to the young. But even if you 'cut it in half' every generation, there will aleays be something left over. :-)
