I had 100 fives to stamp and 'repair' last night, so I did it at work. The condition of the bills was pretty poor in the main, and a stack of 100 bills was rather thick. So I got to thinking…
… and went down to the machine shop, put the stack between a couple of steel plates, and put the bill 'sandwich' in our hydraulic press . At a pressure of 3 tons for 15 minutes! Boy did those bills ever come out nice and flat. Almost like new!
You should scan it and let us see.
It is nice to use 'BIG BOY TOYS' now and then. I see a little Tim Allen showing !!! Oooohhhh aaaawww(grunt!)
A before and after pic of every angle of each bill.. :)
Coooool, i tried pressing an eraser in my art class printing press once…50 bucks later i leared i should never do it again
If you don't mind me asking, Pooga, where do you work? Just wondered how you managed to lay your hands on 100 fives. (And what would you say the ratio of old to new ones is these days? Here in Ontario I'd say the majority is still the old ones, and many still look like they were just released into circulation! Nice….) :)

I don't mind… just check out my profile and website, and it's all there. I actually get a lot of 20s and 50s due to the different groups I'm with, so once I get a $500 worth, I drop by the bank for 5s.

where do u live money king? id say i havent seen an old 10 in at lease 3 months.
I still get old 10's at work. I work in a small lounge in Edmonton…although the old 10's are few and far between and really are looking their age!
i just started a new job at a local store. When its slow I go through the bills, I can't mark them all but I see lots that are in bad shape. I leave them alone and take the better ones first. Oh, and I make sure that the customers change is always a bill stamped, I am so hooked on this site and totally enjoying it!!
I live in the charming city of Stratford…maybe it just seems like there's more old money here because I look for old tens and try to get them in change if I can. (I don't really care for the new series of dollar bills much…I much prefer the old/current one and the one before it.)
Where do you live, Wes?
