ya cannot get hits if ya don't enter bills.
some tid bits for you (now settle down i said tid not tim)
in my last group of bills (5's) in the stacks they were as follows. oldold = bird fives
1.) 27 new 73 old
2.) 22 new 77 old 1 oldold
3.) 39 new 59 old 2 oldold
4.) 100 new
5.) 17 new 83 old
6.) 88 new 12 old
this trend is starting to worry me as seems the new bills are gaining ground way too fast and as a major holder of marked fives in the system i think my active bills will be much smaller than a person who enters more 20's. this may take a toll on my number of hits in the future.
[sniff sniff] how very sad for you.
it has long been known that 20s have better legs on this site (and in the banking system) than that of 5s and 10s. people who want a lot of quick hits often opt to stamp a disproportiate number of smaller denominations, while others who want a true reflection of how their money circulates stamp what they normally (ie, before their awareness of this site) use. i certainly hope that this explanation helps assuage your concerns.
On one paycheque a month I ask for $100 in $5's. I rarely get a new $5 from the bank.
Mesmerize.. what rudy was alluding to was.. if you look at bank collector's profile.. look under statistics.
he has 70100 $5's entered
to 9869 $20's entered.
This is no where near a normal proportion to how people use money.
Such that when you go to a bank machine & pick up $100
you get 5 $20's.. then with each 20 when you spend them .. you get a few $5's
As you do when I get into a bank I ask for $50 in $5's & $50 in $10's then I take my $20's out of the machine when I need more money.
My stats are evening out. I used to go to the casino & when cashing out I would separate my chips.. & ask for $100 in $5's & $100 in $10's then go to the next window..
I haven't been to the casino in quite a while. & kinda miss it.
Even my stats will show more $20's than $5's.. I should believe.
In the summer we use a whole lot more fives because of the store. Now that it is slow, we only need them when I slowly spend the ones from the till so they need to be replaced "just in case" we get a rare customer. we are never open in the winter but just have the odd person who phones first. I mostly use debit with my paychecks as I dont have time to do anything else.
Hi all. Is it possible that as the new $5 bill is introduced more and more, the old $5 bills and especially the marked $5 bills are being removed from circulation?
