dr, is it possible to query the database for a sort of 'family tree'?
Now a lot of people came on to the site (myself included) because we saw a mention of the site somewhere and came to investigate.
But there is a whole other type of member, and those are the ones who came here following a marked bill.
So is it possible to follow those initial bills? Sort of like:
(sample only, this are not real)

Pooga – Sarge – xxx –
Pooga – Idjit – redmax – crazz –
Thought that might be of interest to a few people. Just thought of it because I am member of Cosmopolitan International (a service club) and we get a little pin for recruiting a new member, free membership for 2, and a plaque for 5. Maybe we could try a little cyber-certificate, like they have at Seti@Home.
I like your idea Pooga!
I don't know where it would fit on the site, but I would be interested to see how the members joined.
Yeah, I would be cool to see what got people started…
"Joined because my Uncle Luigi said I better, to help the Family track some hot bills",
or,
"Started tracking bills as a geography project for school. So far it's cost me $273,000 to get a C+…"
Great idea! I think the family tree would be very interesting and the "cyber-certificate" would get/keep even more people hooked on the site.
I like the idea too!Agree with you all of you, it would be interesting.
I think the family tree is a great idea. You could see who is on your upline and who is on your downline..It would be great to know what members you got interested with your bills and then you could look to see how active they are or NOT..That would be a GREAT addition to the site…I got hooked because of one of Poogas bills but it would also be cool to know who came here not as a result of a marked bill and how they found the site. These people would start a new tree.
I was just thinking (before I even read your message) that it would be interesting to get points or something for getting new people addicted. For example, my 2nd hit came yesterday and it wasn't an anonymous person, they actually took the time to login and stuff - so maybe they'll stay. They don't have anonymous email, so I can't email them and encourage them to come back.
Pooga; sounds like the masses think it's a good idea… you know what to do with it… add it to the bug tracker. :)
