I had a great time down there. The only bad part of the trip was our plane being hit by lightning taking off from Denver (and the pilot telling us "I don't think there's any damage to the plane"). That was a bit scary, but the rest of the trip was excellent. I managed to not lose my shirt, and took in all the sites. The Fremont Street Experience was amazing. I took some Canadian money there, but didn't spend any there (I did spend some in Winnipeg coming back, though). As for my WG money, I haven't got any hits on those yet, but they will come I'm sure. The poker room manager at the Riviera even had the audacity to tell me that writing on American bills was a federal crime and that I was defacing government property, and that he's been trying for years to shut down Where's George. I basically told him if it were illegal, the site would have been shut down years ago.

Anyways, I had a great time (though it does feel good to be back home), and hope to make it back someday.

It is too late now .. but to get alot of hits on those American bills in the states you should have used the Regina Sk on it.. :)
some of those southern states.. the men would be asking the wife "What state is SK, Hun?" in a southern drawl!
Even better.. put Regina Saskatchewan.
"Hun I haven't heard of state named Sask A Chew An"

Some Americans will believe anything about their neighbors to the North.
In Denver Some asked about the Saskatchewan plates & Knew it was up North. They Asked if we had many cars.
I made up a story how most people still ride horse & pull buggies. But we rented a car to go on holidays to Arizona.
A horse & buggy would take more than a month to make the round trip & we only had 10 days.

My grandfather told me once while traveling in the US he mentioned being from Saskatchewan. He got comments like "Oh, is that near Saskatoon"? Pretty funny stuff. However, I did come across a number of Americans who knew where Regina and Saskatchewan were. The locals seemed especially knowledgable (and especially one poker dealer at the Luxor), considering they probably meet people from around the world on a regular basis.

And yes LC, I mentioned the bills were coming from Regina, Saskatchewan and used my postal code as the starting point.

If we're telling stories…

Back in 1982 we were vacationing on Maui. One evening we ended up in a hot tub with another couple. After some chatter, they asked us where we were from, and I said, "You probably never heard of it, Saskatoon Saskatchewan."

Talk about looks of shock! The gentleman replied, "We're from St. Loius, and season ticket holders for the Blues! We know where Saskatoon is!"

(If you remember, that was the year that Wild Bill Hunter made his offer to buy the Blues and move them to Saskatoon!)

Well I've gotcha all beat, when I was living in states
(I have dual citizenship)
I brought my canadien car down with me, I forgot to tuck my frost-plug back under my hood and they actually thought that I had a electric car…this was 1983,
were electric cars even around then??

My daughter has all of you beat. We were still living in Regina, and while online, she was chatting with some people from the US. They asked her how she was able to be online while living in an igloo. Her reply? "My computer is solar-powered." She figured there was no use explaining we lived a house as this was the middle of summer!

How about the time I was in Regina for some
'winter-fest thingy' in Febuary on Wascana lake. I was with my brother-in-law(who is American)he couldn't believe that people were so bored in the winter, that they waste there time to snowplow a frozen lake?!
