So I get this radar note....

To me all those new series notes feel like limp rags. Is it just me or do they seem to wear faster? Cheap things. (Uh oh, I'm off on a purist tangent again, I'll shut up…)

My sympathies, MASTERRAISTLIN. I found my second radar ever last night, a twenty, in nasty shape as well. Someone made it even worse by writting their name on the back of it in large, dark letters. So I just marked it and spent it. ARRGGGHH!

I don't know but they do seem a little flimsier and I've seen a lot of the new fives and tens in really rough shape. I much prefer the bird series anyway - much nicer design (and easier to mark). Why did they change them anyway??

Hmmmm ok please make clear to me exactly what a "radar note" is…sorry still trying to understand all your money talk lingo…solwly I am learning…

of a "radar" note.
Just like the WORD "radar" it reads the same backwards and forwards.
They are worth more in prime condition.
Check your serial numbers because if you find one in excellent condition (don't stamp or mark it!) post it on the board and someone may buy it off you at face value.

It's nice to have somebody agree with me, Jake! Some of my friends like the new series, much to my chagrin. As far as I know, they replaced the "Birds" to keep one step ahead of the counterfeiters (apparently the series had become easy to counterfeit). My question though is why don't they just improve the bill but keep the same design? It couldn't be that hard to do…the U.S. had the same basic design for years and years on their bills, and Britain's money didn't change too radically when they last introduced their new series…I'd like to see the '69-75 series make a comeback (if I were king for a day). They're also pretty, and everybody seemed (or still does!) to like those…:)

I like the birds series better too, but it is nice to see new designs. Keep in mind also that the two printing companies in Canada take advantage of the Bank of Canada's willingness to create new designs as a kind of showcase for what they can do. We print money for other countries here- it's good business.

The US doesn't alter their money, but look at the percente of counterfites. Its almost double the amount in Canada. Still the BoE is to American to change it.
