POLL: What's the most hits you've got in a week?

Wouldn't have a clue. Would either have to scroll through all my hits, our pull them from archived weekly reports, if there were any!

I'd be guessing, so I won't even try. Like Idjit said, a couple or two.

I believe the most I got in a week is about 11 and 4 in one day…I finally got my first hit on a $50. from Welland Ontario. It was a 189 day sleeper…

Ive had 4 hits in one day, 10+ in a week. That was last May.

Up to this point we haven't had too many of this notion of "polls" and although I like to keep my neck out of the forums as much as possible, I'd like to see us not go down that route. The other site has a tonne of those message threads and it causes some issues:

(1) you see the same (or similar) polls over and over
(2) it makes the message boards huge at a fast rate

That's why we created the "Contests" section. Because there were just too many messages. If you hold off on these kind [polling] of messages, I will add an option for the next release which allows you to specify that a messages is editable by anyone. Then we can contain a poll or contest thread to just a single message. And I will set it up so that such messages are marked as unread everytime someone re-edits the message. How does that sound?

No need to freak out. There are no rules per se, though there are some guidelines (very similar to the other sites) listed in the help section.

I just don't like "polls" because the answers are short and if all the regular users answered there would be 100 or so two word replies. And we would see the same thing over and over. I read the message threads at the other site fairly often and those "polls" they have in the message board totally turn me off.

If you guys are interested, perhaps I will also add actual polls to the site. Then you guys can all suggest poll questions and we can have actual polls/surveys/votes with stats and such. Much like you see on other sites (like CTV's daily poll on a hot topic). How about that?

Polls that are not attached to the forums would be best- just a table in the 'top 10' that changed, say once every two weeks. The results could be archived and a new topic posted… wanna bug for this DR? Maybe we could start a poll… (LOL)

DR. is what your saying the following:
If a person puts out a polling question with a short answer required, each of us could go in and add our answer by editing the message. Then the poll would be contained in one message with all of the results with each user identified.
If thats what you mean, I could go for that..

I hate how the other site does that. More often than not, the posts say (nt[no text]). And its so bloody annoying.

OK dr I think that would be a good way to go. Now would you place the poll under it's own heading in the forums or as an open message at the bottom of the page.
