I don't see the problem… but it's first thing in the morning and I DID only sleep 4 hrs…
People who enter bill with a past date. Say if today I enter a bill but put that I got it July 7th, that's backdating.
you lost me there as well??? it does not take a lot to confuse me but no matter how much I look at it, I just dont get it!
In most cases, people will not edit the box and date the bill at the current time. Many will also take the bill back a day or two to approximately when they got the bill.
But to date the bills 6 weeks ago means that they wrote the serial number down and forgot about entering till now, or else they made an error such as confusing Canadian and American dating systems. Can: dd/mm/yy Amer: mm/dd/yy so 10/12/02 is 10 Dec. here, and 12 Oct. there.
BTW, the accepted international method (ISO compliant) as of 1 January, 2000 is "dd-mm-yyyy"
When you click on THIS BILL in Poogas message you can see that the bill was entered on 15-dec-2002 but the date of the hit is 30 Oct 2002…
There should be limits on backdating. What if every hit on a bill was backdated, wouldn't that mess up the hit sequence? Perhaps a 10 day limit to enter bills.
" What if every hit on a bill was backdated, wouldn't that mess up the hit sequence?"
You can not backdate a bill to before the time it was last entered, But If someone entered a bill say on 1-Jan-02 and another person got it a year later they could backdate it to any time after the date it was entered. You cannot mess up the sequence, unless of course you had a bill that you marked and forgot to enter until after someone else had found it and entered it as well..
Soooo…anyway…does that mean
(21's eyes gleam mischievously)
if yesterday I was only able to enter 20 out of my 35 bill limit,
that today if I backdate 15 bills - I can enter 50??
Wahoo!!
No 21MDB, your limit is for that day, if you only enter 15 out of 30, and that's all you have for that day, that's it. The next day it starts over, you hope you can make your limit each day sometime you can't sometime you can.
But this other guy waited a month and a half before entering a bill. What if someone else had it before he finally entered it. Sometimes you might have more bills than you can enter and you hope no one fines it, but 45 days, thats a long time to wait….!!!!
I also got two others hit today that I had entered that day. One is my first hit in Quebec and he back dated it to Nov. 30th. The other is my first hit in Newfoundland! Yahoooo!
On that 1st New hit :o)
<a href=http://www.cdn-money.com/cdnmoney/servlet/cmtViewBill?ID=255016>THIS BILL</a> had been backdated 2 months.
Whatever, date entered is date hit as evidenced by its more honest entry <a href=http://www.whereswilly.com/report.php3?key=a7e2cc3b03c7440d37bd34433bd466ec>HERE</a>.
(html can be so tricky at times!)
When I first joined, there was few hits in Newfoundland. Now a lot of people are getting them.
No 21 backdates do not allow you to enter more bills in one day.

Er, actually, ISO 8601 specifies YYYY-MM-DD format for dates.

Oops, sorry, you're right.
Don't know how I messed that one up!
