Money in circulation

According to the bank of Canada website, the approximate life span of a $50 note is 4-6 years, and for a $100 note it is 7-9 years.

That proves what I figured. Due to the fact they are less circulated. I imaginge the old $1 and $2 didn't last long…..

Thanx menegene.

I really like the bank's definition of 'mutilated' notes:

A bank note is mutilated when its condition requires special examination to determine its value. The most common causes of mutilation are fire, floods, chemicals, and explosives, deterioration by burial, animal, insect or rodent damage.

Save that definition for the next time a teller or a clerk admonishes you for 'mutilating' currency! (you dirty rat, you mutilated my bill!)
