I am just curious to know if anyone has ever thought about making a group on facebook for canadian money trackers? I would l make the group but not to sure as what to put.Gimme some feedback as how many users here use facebook and if it would be worth it to make a group.
I am on facebook, but rarely if ever use it.
We do have a Frappr group, but it is rarely used.
OK well I was bored and made a facebook group called canadian money trackers.feel free to join even if you dont visit often.I would love to meet and talk to other trackers around canada.
So what is the exact address 4 that?
I can't seem to find it.

I think that is how you do it.
All you really need to do is go to the search and type in canadian money trackers and it should come up as a group.
Before anyone rushes over to join facebook, and for those of you who already have, you may want to have a look at this. Facebook watches your internet use, and collects information on your surfing habits (whether you are logged in or not). They use a program called Beacon, which was designed to track what its members do and buy on their advertising partners' sites. The problem is that this program is also tracking everything anyone else on your computer does. They claim that they don't sell your information, but there's really no one to stop them from doing so.
Did you even read the whole thing about the beacon? You can opt out of Beacon, when you are on facebook.
Plus it's not like Facebook is the only site that "spies" on your internet activity.
Can you think of a better place to set up a group to join so everyone can share stories and get to know one another who share the same interest? And I don't mean this site either. It isnt very welcoming here.
Glad you started the group Smurf! This is only the 2nd group that I have joined on Facebook-hope we have a GREAT time! Conk
don't get pissy with me smurfychick. I just wanted everyone on this site to be aware of what's happening because everyone has the right to privacy online. Of course it's not the only site that spies, many do, and people should be aware of all of them. I'm not saying "don't join" I'm just saying, "if you do join, be aware of what you're signing up for".
IDK how you got that I was "pissy" Im not.
I was just stating my opinion just like you did.I know you werent saying anything bad and i know there are some "hidden" things with different sites.Im sorry that I cameoff that way to you but i assure I was not mad.
Thanks for the helpful info trippy_trip. Last time I went to a site that had that much access it screwed up my pc. Glad you let us know. :) I'd be lost not being able to log on, enter bills and chat in forums.
shewolf, I've also had problems with spyware before. It can really slow down and mess up your computer, sometimes to the point where you have to completely erase your hard-drive and start over. I don't want to see anyone else have these problems too. I think that facebook is not nearly as bad as alot of other sites. I just don't trust any site that spies on my every move. And, smurfychick, I apologize for my misundersatnding. I thought you were mad at me, and I just want everyone here to be safe online.
How does one opt out of Beacon on Facebook? I've been on Facebook since August, and joined the CMT group last night.
Everyone wants to be safe online. Thanks for keeping us up to date about s**t like that though. Not everyone is computer literate and knows about spyware.
No worries Trippy, how can I be mad at someone who I don't know?
I am new at this site and I am still trying to understand all that is going on. Finally, after reading past messages, I uderstood why the serial numbers have stars in them whem printed. I have entered some bills already and hopefully will have some hits. I found this site because I got a bill with the URL on it and I thought it would be fun to visit. People come up with some interesting hobbies. :) As anyone received a hit in a country other than Canada?
I got a few from North Dakota, New Jersey and Arizona in the States.
Ok thank you for letting me know.
I knew there was a good reason to distrust Facebook. I was reluctant to join but was invited to join a group. I joined but opted out of pretty much everything. If Beacon is spyware, couldn't it be blocked with spyware blocking software on your computer? I wonder what Beacon does on public computers where they are multiple users, some of which may use Facebook?
Interesting. I wonder where they would go from there?
for anyone interested there is news and good information here
do you have to do all that?
what happens if you don't?
