i am sure that they must pump something into the air in the hotels i was in my room maybe three hours a day had a power nap and was out on the strip or at the tables. far too much input and only 4 days to take it all in. while there i did not suffer from any of my many pains nor did i ever feel tired with only minor sleep periods. i was at shows at midnight and playing the tables at 4am. breakfast feasts were at 9am. and sights started by 10am. until midnight unless we had a show to go to. casino play was done through the day between sights and when we found a table that was giving us money. slept most of the time on the plane as we came down from whatever we were breathing in the casinos. back home in minus weather (oh how the cowboys were crying about the +50 degree weather) as we canadians walked around in short sleeve shirts. i never saw so many cowboy hats in my life … i thought i was at the calgary stampeed … it was the rodeo finals while we were there so blue jeans and cowboy hats were the norm. anyone ever seen a $200,000.00 horse trailer? it was being pulled by a super shined kenworth. the tailer had three roof top air conditioners a small deck on the front with bolted down chairs and what looked like an oversize beer / ice bucket or was that a jack dan. cooler? it had a set of speakers on it that would knock your socks off. i guess that was one horse trailer made for horsing around. the back tail gate was all chrome with pistons to raise and lower it. the trailer and rig were all locked down so could not sneak a peek inside but the sleeper on the rig was bigger then my forst apartment and i would hate to think what the livestock carried inside would be worth. now if anybody ever tells me that rodeo winners do not make money i am sure they can explain these poor boys toys for running the range. i wonder which hotel was lucky enough to put up the livestock. i guess we only got to see the top half of the team and the four legged members and the handlers were put up in less plush surroundings. vegas was great and the cowboys made it seem like we never left home. dealers get darn strange looks when asking where we were from and how do ya spell that?

Sounds like you had a good time. Where did you stay?

Casinos don't really pump in oxygen though, its pure adrenaline. That's how I was able to stay up til past midnight the first day, even though I was up at 3:30 am to catch the first connecting flight at 5:30 (and didn't sleep a wink between Regina and Vegas).

stayed at the mirage was a wonderful room (did not spend much time in it) went to bed about 2 am and was on the floor playing around 4am. took coffee to my wife in room about 9am. got days plans and off we went. took in two shows …love that was a great show. and then dan ganz his show was a waste for time and money. was going to go see celine but it was her last two weeks and i was told she was just riding out the waves so to speak. we have seen her many times in canada so was not worth the $500.00 price tag. tom jones was only $75.00 and my wife wanted to go see him but we went to the ganz show instead (a mistake i think).

hey BC…. yeah, tom jones puts on a great vegas show for an old man – he sang for nearly 2 hours when we saw him two years ago (should have talked to me first! :) ). and you scare, me, BC… i saw "Love" in october and it was incredible. don't tell me that there are things we can agree on!!!

Gene…
I haven't actually been to Vegas..
But I do know the body needs less sleep when you are in an Oxygen rich enviroment.
I wouldn't say all the casinos & hotels, pump in oxygen, but I do believe the majority do. They wouldn't admit to it.
I know lots of people who go down there for like 2 weeks.
By the end of their stay they are on a regular sleep pattern. With a good Hour & half less sleep than when they are at home…
Pretty weird behavior for people on holidays..

rudyk i always new we had some of the same things in common just hate to admit it. :-). we had seats so close to the stage that during the roller blade part i could feel the air breake as they went by. tom jones would have been nice but we had time conflict with other show and my wife went with the ganz show. (bad choice) where did you stay want to try different hotel next trip.

I dunno, LC. Seems to me that pumping in oxygen would be a fire hazard. There's a good article about this urban legend on the Snopes website.
