LOL. Yep, I like that one. Now we just have to get the tills programmed to enter our bills, and we wouldn't need those non-CMT humans at all!

they may be just users that signed up and added the bill, no where does it say that the bill was marked

I doubt it. The comments seem to indicate that they came to the site because of the bill.

Brand new users who show up on their own tend to enter more bills on the initial logon.

Please sirs…what in the world is an "orphan" and how do you tell?

We are always saying that a user must of entered the wrong serial number. Wouldn't it be even more likely that the person who found the bill could enter it wrong?

I'm not saying that I haven't entered incorrect serial numbers (I could use the orphaned hits!), but aren't we more carefull than someone who found their first bill?

That is a possibilty I hadn't considered.

But I'm still leaning towards the first user. We tend to enter bills in batches and might get a bit sloppy at times, while a first timer probably takes a little more care simply because they are not familiar with the site.

And as an example, here is a <a href=http://www.cdn-money.com/cdnmoney/servlet/cmtViewBill?ID=314004 target=_new>$100 bill</a> that looks like an orphan. Two new users making the same error? This definitely has to be an original entry error!

Yes, I agree with you. I just thought that maybe some of the mistakes could be from the new users.

Don't forget- the bill has a stamp on it- Proof that a user had it first…

Yes and the the tendancy is to get faster as you become familier will something. That's why I always write down the Serial number in my little black book first. Then I double check it!! But even still the fingers do get Dislexic from time to time.
