Yeah, I had the same conversation with a Scotiabank teller at 22nd st. She asked me if I 'did this', I said yes. She said "Do you know what we do with these? We send them to the Bank of Canada." I said "Yes, then they re-issue them." No further comment from the teller.

Gee!!! Thanks guys I guess my bills are going to get spread around if thats what banks do. I live in a very small town so most bills get back to the bank pretty quick. lol!

Yeah. I just laugh at tellers now because they think they own the money supply. Last week I offered to give a bank's staff a seminar on marking bills so they wouldn't be so ignorant- they declined.

I ususally deposit most of my marked bills at the bank. That way, they get off the island for sure and on to the mainland.

Funny how this person, entered the bill while mentioning "we wonder why you do this?". I think the person answered their own question- as by entering this bill, and thus giving a user a hit, and as a result completely the cycle, exactly why we enter bills.

Does that make sense?

Yup! by telling us their opinion they unknowningly helped us along! And the BoC would likely send the bill back into circulation.
