WAP / Mobile version of CMT

I've broken down and finally gotten myself a Blackberry, which means I have access to a decent mobile phone web browser. That in turn means I have something that I can use to test a mobile version of the site with. Is there any interest in something like that? I was thinking that a mobile phone version of the site would be limited, at first anyway, to a main page with your user stats and a page for entering notes.

And yes, I know there is a lot of other stuff on the list, but a WAP version of the site could be built independently of the main site which means I could build it far more rapidly than anything for the main site.

Any thoughts? There would need to be significant interest before I would commit.

To be honest with you….. Blackberries are not what they are hyped up to be….. I am really curious and anxious to see how well the iPhone works first hand…. So far I am really impressed with the iPod Touch..

It would solve the problem of being out-and-about and not being able to enter change a person gets before spending it if you have to before going home.

That would probably be the best benefit of having such a service available.

You can't wait for the iPhone (so you bought one) or you can't wait for me to do up a WAP version of the site? Or perhaps both?

I must admit I was a tad bit vague in my post - my bad

Both would be nice dr. First I wish is to see the iphone in Canada with an affordable service provider. Maybe this month :)

How is the blackberry working out Dr? I've been looking to get a new unlocked hand held device and am stuck between the Palm Treo 650 or the Blackberry Curve. I just saw Microsoft has a hand held mobile out too, which I might be interested in. I'm leaning towards the Palm as it seems more user friendly, less 'businessy. Though the Blackberry does have GPS capability (not sure if the Palm does or not).

But, ya, I'm interested in a mobile version of the site. I remember you talking about this a while ago but nothing really came of it.

The Blackberry is very slick. All reports point to the Blackberry as the better device. And it runs any apps built with Java and there seem to be a lot of add ons out there.

As for the mobile version of the site, I will start planning it in the next couple weeks.

Well now I need to get a new phone as mine just got stolen out of my truck.

The Blackberry pearl looks good.
