I heard that if the bank sees a marked note, they get it out of circulation?
I heard that if the bank sees a marked note, they get it out of circulation?
well, then the royal bank has the visually impaired filling their bank machines because that is where i find about half of marked notes that i enter…
Completely false.
FALSE in most cases I am sure that there are some bank managers and employees that may have it in for marked money but on the whole I do not think many of them care. To most bank workers it is just a job … however in any group of people there are those who get a hold of an idea (or cause so to speak) and go out of their way to further that cause. As this site has a few who have gone full bore entering as many bills as they can … the same will hold true on the other side with some wanting all our marked bills taken away. In the long run we will prevail. My opinion only.
I have also received marked bills from the bank machine, so it would be false.
I'm beginning to wonder about that. It's been quite awhile since I received a marked note from the bank.
It seems weird but banks don't actually fill the machines.
Brinks & like companies usually do it.
So in reality banks don't see this money.
However the machines in side that dispense cash for the human tellers are filled by banks. There I have received a few marked bills.
SO in essence Banks do NOT take bills out of circulation.
BUT.. there are a few uneducated people who work in banks that beleive that marking bills is illegal.
NOT all bank personnel act this way.
I must agree with Lord Comedy on these points but I feel the managers of the tellers sets the tone on which action the tellers take on marked money. If a manager is pro cmt or does not care then we are fine as she/he will object if a teller tries to reject a bill … but if the manager is anti bill marking then we have a problem where bills at that branch may be sent away. We then get a second chance at the distroy area as if they fine the bills okay they will return them into the flow.
