If they ever say something about it, show them one of my bills with the huge markings. Or say that it is Legal and for them to quit pouting.

Of the 3 responses I've had, 2 of them were interested(no hits, though. Figures), and one old prune was PO'ed at me.

It's wierd, but most times when I spend the mark bills people will look at it and ask me if I want it back.

NO, that's why I'm spending it.

When ever my customers comment about the message, I say, "Hey, check it out, I did and it's really fun."
Most never say anymore more except, oh? Some ask, and I just tell them its a fun way to see where your money goes once you spend it. No one has ever complained about the writing.

I was buying poutine at KFC one time and paid with one of my marked bills. He looked at it and then explained to me what it was all about. I thought that was pretty hilarious!

My favorite comment. It was a Safeway clerk: "Why do people do this? You'd think they'd have better things to do with their time" To which I replied: "It actually takes no time at all." Then I showed her my wallet- "I did these in about 5 minutes flat!" Her, realizing her foot was in her mouth- "Oh!, er, ahh, um , well I uh, umm, er, would you like help out with your groceries?" No thanks, said I, laughing.
My second favorite:
Clerk: "What's this stamp"
Me: "It's a website where you track money. You cans see where that bill's been, and after you enter it, you can see where it goes."
Clerk: "How do I know it's not counterfeit."
Me: "What makes you think it's counterfeit."
Clerk: "It has a stamp on it."
Me, pulling out my stamp: "Show me your hand." I stamp the back of her hand. "Are you still human?"
Clerk: "Yes."
Me: "Bingo! So much for your counterfeit theory…"
Clerk: "Will that be all…" -She said this in a different tone of voice which up until now was fairly freindly…

Well you are all braver than I. Back at the beginning of my CMT life, I gave a five to a clerk and she basically yelled for the whole place to hear "www.cdn-money.com - what is that?" I just looked at her and shrugged. I think I was a little embarrassed and I didn't want to take the time to explain it. Guess that's why I'm not a site "evangelist". What are other people's experiences. I have found that when I tell my friends they think it's stupid. Sometimes they don't get it either. One guy thought that I sent all my stamped bills to the CMT headquarters and never got them back. I had a good laugh at that.

What a way to leave a lasting impression, Idjit.

With me I usually get dirty looks, one cashier actually had the time when it was busy, to pass it around to the other cashiers. I thought they were going to get security! Sometimes I pray that they don't notice, but then that's pointless isn't it? A guy at the gas station took the time to look at both sides of all my fives when I paid almost $40 for gas. He looked very pissed off. They see the bills but I doubt if they even know what a computer is. Those that do enter my bills, they do it behind my back seemingly not to want to give me the satisfaction that they like what I do. Sometimes it helps to shop around if you feel you're dropping your bills in a dead pit, go to another mall.

Me I'm not bashfull I just come right out and tell them what it's about. Spent five minutes at the cash one day with six people in the line telling the clerk what it was about!!!!!!!

When I went to the Wal-Mart, I gave the teller $50 in marked fives for a fifty. She quickly saw the writing, then looked at the other side. Same thing. Then she looked at the next bill, and another. After looking at them all, she asked, "Why is there writing on these bills?" To which I replyed, stupidly, "I don't know." Luckily, she accepted the bills, and now 2 of them have hits on them.

My favourite is when I went to Esso near me and paid for a five. The lady behind the counter took my bill and looked at it in which she followed with, "who in the world would want to do this thing. It's gotta be the stupidist thing going." Than in a mockey voice, "Track this bill, oh that would be fun."
I just laughed and walked out with my goods.

Most times my marked bills are given out at work. If a customer asks about it, usually my answer is that I did notice it and will be checking it out on the computer. They must do the same because usually the next day I have a hit off that bill.
