Well I didn't get much feedback on what you wanted for version 1.5.0 so I've just been plugging away (for the most part) on all the things I think we need to have for the next release. To get everyone excited, I thought I'd post a message about what you can expect to see.
I've made a lot of changes to the message board; you can now easily mark all your unread messages as being read, and you can also now edit your messages. I've also removed the ability to use HTML in the subject line and fixed some bugs with the message board. And the message board list now also shows you how many messages are unread in each individual topic area.
This morning I added the code to add hits to a team's count, which means that any teams that are created before I deploy 1.5.0 will be able to start scoring right away. If you want to be part of a team, please let me know via email as soon as possible as I probably won't get to the team administration stuff before the release which means I'll be doing all the team admin manually for a while.
I have also started the weekly newsletter mailout stuff so that too should be ready for 1.5.0 along with a bunch of minor bug fixes and small changes to the look and feel.
When can you expect to see this new version? Well, that sorta depends on a number of factors. I was hoping to have 1.5.0 deployed towards the latter half of November, but I'm pretty busy these days with Bitonic during the week and the Army Reserves on the weekend. Plus the season of snow is upon us and I want to try and get out for a few days of boarding. However, all that said, I am targeting December 3rd to have the new version in your browsers.
Oh, I almost forgot; I'm getting T-shirt designs made up. When I get some designs I will post them on the site and you can vote on which one you like best. Look for those in the new year.
As per normal, all comments, suggestions, complaints or Starbursts (thanks MMMBEER) should be directed to me via email.

How about a version of the scoreboard that records a CMT score based on only the past week or month, along with the all-inclusive one? That way, new users will see how their contribution rates on the short term, and won't have to wait a long time to hope to catch the veterens.
As for teams, place me on (or create a new), Saskatoon team that does NOT include Pooga. We have to balance the team scores a bit, after all!

Umm, well it's too late for making suggestions for 1.5.0 as I've already decided what I will be in that release. Plus the CMT score based on the past week as you suggested will be listed in the weekly newsletter, which should be ready for 1.5.0 anyway.

Further to my last message… I know I've promised this before but, over the next few days you should see distances for all hits. I have in my possession a borrowed Garmin emap GPS which, as set up right now, has lat/longs for most of Canada (I think it's got a plug-in map card). Anyway, there are 93 cities in CMT that are missing coordinates which I will input lat/longs for over this week. All good. :)

Great…if there are any little Saskatchewan towns that are missing, let me know. We're are doing a road move exercise in a couple weeks (Army truckers, you know), and if we go through any of those tiny whistle stops, I'll get a shot with my GPS.
Just to get you all pumped for the next version, I figured I'd post the latest news. I've now added all the lat/longs I have at my disposal. Yay! The team stuff is up and running (though it's a little bare and will remain that way for the release). All that basically remains is to write the code to generate the weekly newsletter/report. I hope to have that done for Monday; if not, I will still ship 1.5.0 on time, but the first weekly report will have to be the following week.
Have a great weekend everyone!
