I tried to install Windows Xp today on my computer. It said there was an error and cannot continue uploading the XP software. Now I cannot open any .EXE files at all.
Various unhelpful website suggested the problem lies in the regedit directory of windows.

Was it a real copy of Windows XP or one you downloaded off the Net? Cause it sounds like you downloaded a hacked version if you ask me.

The Yahaa worm virus attacks your regitstry files so check your virus software and run a boot disk virus scan.
Just a suggestion.
I did, I had the Yahaa virus. I deleted it yesterday. I deleted the infected files, would this be a cause?
I tried deleting the YaHaa virus several times with different programs. It was still there after several tries. I ended up formating the HD. I'm running Xp Pro.
This was DRASTIC, however I know its gone now…
The only way to TRULY be sure that a virus is gone is to reformat the HD. I recommend formatting the HD and starting over for sure. But that's just me.
MmmBeer, you should get rid of Windows and get into Linux. It's the "in style" thing to do.

Ya, even though I don't got it, Linux is the best thing to get. Way better than Windows.
Yeah reformat! It's the only way to be sure the virus is gone. I want ot get LINUX to but my wife is like a bind person in a house of knifes with windows!!!!!LOL
I don't got it
I think you should add to the bug tracker

Well, I'm half way there. The new Mac OS is UNIX based. Certainly looks formidible!
I hope that doesn't ruin the great graphic engine the MAC's are known for. It would be nice to get a MAC some day to network with the new one I will be building this year!!
