What happened to the five

I noticed today that the first 8 Hits recored on the site where all on 20's, is this a change in the trends or just a coincidence

I haven't had a hit on a fiver for quite some time. I don't think they have discontinued the five, but the hits sure have dropped off. Perhaps not as many users entering $5.00 notes as before! Just my opinion.

that's part of it wally but don't also discount the saturation of the market with marked 5s. there are quite a few users who dealt exclusively with them and I suspect that most people who WOULD ever enter them, just don't anymore because they've seen too many. also consider that high denominations tend to stay in people's possession longer.

i just know that i don't get hits on ANY notes lately :)

I took money out and watched my teller at the Confed at the CIBC, she took out 6 marked bills telling me they were too riped but I never seen a tear.

I just had a look and of my last 10 hits, 5 of them were fives, 1 was a ten and the other 4 were twentys. So I would say that I'm still lucky with my fives.

canucksfan, your location (and the location of your hits) likely plays a proportionately large role in that.

i took a look at your page 2 & 3 of hits received..

2 hits on 10's
9 hits on 20's
page 3 you had 1 hit on each 5, 10 ,20
so you are receiving more hits on 20's than the regular average was a year or 2 ago as well

I think i said with how bank machine mostly only give 20's this average would increase

Yeah, I remember when the Royal Bank used to give $5's in their machines.

That was some time ago. I miss the days of being able to take out only 5 or 10 dollars. At least at the HSBC ATM's you can get $10, $20 or $50 notes.

Really!!!!! I think all of the Saskatoon RBC ATMs have been switched to 20s only.

I use the TD machines and I never get anything but 20s.

Scotia Bank changed their machines in the mid 90s so I couldn't take out 10 dollars

I got $50.00 notes from a machine in Fort St John, BC a few years ago otherwise all I get are $20's
