please add new prefix "APZ" $5-2006, "EDH" $100-2004
As per your request, prefix APZ, for $5 banknotes, Canadian Journeys series, has been added to the database.
Thank you for your notification and a reminder that the best way in which to inform us of a new prefix is a post in this forum.
EDH for $100 notes has not been confirmed as of yet. Are you able to send a picture or a scan of the note? If so please send to admin@cdn-money.com.

pierre212… i'd be a tad wary about spending this banknote… there is no record of this s/n prefix ever being used for that denomination – did you check all the security features on that note? if you still have it, you might want to take it to a bank for verification.
(note that no such prefix has been seen at the other money-tracking sites, it doesn't exist in any of the paper money forums and the most recent Charlton catalogue suggests that it has never been used)
OOOPPPS…
Be aware that if you take it to the bank and it is fake you are out the money. Do you remember where you got the bill? My suggestion is you return to where you got it and question them or get a replacement. My second suggestion is this go to the casino and put it into one of their machines if the machine takes it as valid then you cash out and your done with it. If the machines reject the bill then what Rudyk has told you is the proper route. I personally would keep it as a part of my collection and be done with it. Rather keep it as a fake bill then to give it away to the government and have to answer many questions.
BC…. as the last person with it before learning it is bogus, you are stuck with it in any case – you are the victim of a crime, yes, but by passing is to anyone else, including the casino, you are victimizing that person. it sucks, yeah, but that's the way it is. counselling anyone to find a way of divesting themselves of it is conspiracy.
i am almost positive that the note in question is counterfeit. the responsible thing to do would be to take it to the authorities and aid them in finding the source of the banknote. as it stands, the user is now irrevocably linked to that banknote since he did enter it.

Plus, if passed at a casino, the security cameras are sure to catch the person in the act. And double plus, this discussion, and the scan that was sent to Admin would point the finger to the person who last had possession of it.
I heard a rumor a few weeks ago that a lot of forged $100.00 notes were being circulated around. What the forgers had done was somehow cut the silver security strip out of a $5.00 note and attach it to $100.00 notes they forged. The way to pick that up is check the reflection on the silver strip. It has the denomination of the note imprinted in it. Check the strip….if it has $100 on it, it's real. If it doesn't, you got a counterfeit.
Okay now first off I was only giving an idea on how to check if it is real if the casino machine checks it out and allows it then I would say it was real. If the machine rejects it then you may have a real problem… now saying this I might point out that the machine may reject the bill because of your stamp. I also said that I would put it into my collection as a fake rather than to give it up to the bank or police. I also mentioned if you knew where you got it that a visit back to the start might be in order. Never did I suggest to take it to another location store etc. and try to use it. I offered the casino machine as a way of testing it and seeing if the machine confirmed Rudyk suggestion or not without involving human contact.
Now onto subject two of these threads if the security cameras were to pick up on bills rejected by themachines and security personel were sent to the location to check then I would spend half of my time at the casino speaking to them as many of my bills are rejected by the machines (due to my stamps).
Now I did mention that Rudyk did give the proper advice … I was only dealing with a method of how to check the bill. Good luck with the bill in question and let us know how you clear up the issue.
Another thing you could do is go to the dollar store and buy a black light to check the bill at home.
Thanks for all the ideas, but wont be able to act on it, as I do most of my deposits before the weekend.
So far I haven't heard from the bank, and should they call, I will let you know if they found the note to be a bad one.
Started to have nightmares, after I was reading all those suggestions, on how to have the bill checked. I was already seeing the swat team surrounding my building. Well,….. not quite.
Its good to see that this site has members, that pass on their experience and ideas for discussion, so everybody can profit from it. Especially for those that deal with cash on a daily basis.
Besides having fun tracking the bills.
I get also paid in a not to well lit vehicles, and always try to make sure the notes are ok.
With the old bills I did help global warming, with some 50s and 20's, a few years back.
The safety feature in the new notes does help, and if anybody has other ideas on how and what to watch out for, many will appreciate the input.
Keep in mind that gadgets, as UV-light, is not very practical if you dont work in stationary place.
Have to go now, see if there is anything unusual happening outside, lol
