I'm new to this group. Fascinating.
On my info profile there is a note re. unread messages.
What does this refer to?

dr

Do you mean that it says something like:

Unread Messages: 153

If so, that means that there are 153 messages on this message board that you haven't read yet. In order to get rid of that, you have to read all the messages on the message board, though in the next version of this site (due out within a couple of weeks), you will be able to mark old messages as read so you won't see that.

Hope that helps,

Thanks. It does. Has anyone tried to figure out the odds in any fashion for a "hit"? ex. regional, national, type of bill, whether the bill has the www. written on it?

dr

Umm, I've been meaning to compile that stuff but I haven't gotten around to it yet. POOGA is always bugging me for more stats… Look for more in 2002. :)

Hey! I resemble that remark!

Look for more in 2002.

THAT long???

Idjit

Here's a couple of stats that would be interesting:
1.How long are bills circulating before their first hit.

  1. The curve on hits/time. Does a bill lose its 'hitfullness' over time?
  2. Which bills generate the best response: 5's 10's etc.
  3. Which bills seem to stay in the system the longest (longevity).
Maybe we should have a small poll to solicit what info folks want to see/ would find usefull…

Serotonin

Agree. Additional as noted: $5 retired after 1 year in circulation; $20 retired after 2 years. Draw from that.
Also, $5(1986): prefixes to date-86; $20(1991): prefixes to date-110. Figure that.

DR probably has a loooong list of stat requests right now from a few of us last summer.

Probably coming in the near future, but remember, DR is a programmer, not a closet statictician! (like some of us)
