Found some places for dr to dive when he comes to the Provincial Gathering! He can hit Coteau Creek on the way through, and finish at Lovering Lake. I understand that it's not too far from Craik. Lovering even has an old steamboat on the bottom, and some interesting old fishpens! More info at this site and this one as well.
I have friends with a cabin on Lovering Lake. This place just pops up in the middle of the prairies. Good pickerel fishing, isn't it spring fed or something, its really cold all summer long.
Do you know EXACTLY where it is? It's not on my maps.
And is there a Regional park nearby?
I was told that diving there is only good till the end of June, gets a little green after that.
We came from Regina to Chamberlain and turned left at the road to Moose Jaw, I think its the first small paved road (highway) you don't go very far 5 - 10 miles and then turn right, go about another 7 or so miles and its to your right. You can't believe this is sitting here in the middle of nothing!!! There is a beach, not sure about camping etc. hubby is in bed already so will have to ask in the morning. Its close to Alsbury (spelling??) That's were everyone always went to get beer??
I went to Mapquest and found Chamberlain, It's on the highway to Moose Jaw almost seems like its part of Buffalo Pound. Not sure though, but its close to Chamberlain. I grew up at Regina Beach so I could stay at my mom's. It's not too far!! Could always come to my place. I have a dug out and we didn't get all the rainbow trout out last year. Maybe dr would check and see if they are really big!!! Not sure how deep it is maybe 15 - 18 feet at the most??
Lovering is about 8 miles from Chamberlain as the crow flies, I have been there many times camping. My son is an avid diver and the Moose Jaw Dive Club uses Lovering for their courses and testing.
What a neat site, Pooga. I never knew it existed.
Cheezie
So was I right with my directions Suzuki?? It's been quite a few years since I've been there, wasn't sure about camping. But it was a nice place, and good fishing!!
