How many people were into computers back in the 80's? When they were just starting to get popular and all home computers were 8-bit machines?
Back then I was a SysOp (System Operator) of my own local BBS (Bulletin Board System) Which I guess was the for-runner to the internet. A buddy of mine was also a SysOp of his own BBS.
I had gotten into the habit of writting "Happy BBSing" on every $2.00 and $5.00 bills that came into my hands then spent them as I normally would. My buddy knew I was doing this.
One day, my buddy told my that his sister had come across one of these bills and, knowing that he ran a BBS, asked him about it. I thought that it was really cool that this had come full circle back to me. (However, I never saw any of these bills again.)
I found this site a few days ago and I thought "Ever cool! My 'Happy BBSing' days have evolved"
I'm having fun with this site and I'm looking forward to my first hit.
Is there a way to find if there are other users or if there have been hits in my town? I would like to know if I'm the first tracker in my town or if I have company here.
To the administraters, thanks for a great site and to all fellow trackers:
Happy BBSing!!!

I haven't been here much longer than you so sorry I can't answer your question. I'm sure someone else will. I just wanted to tell you that that is a "EVER COOL" story.
"Happy BBSing" to you too.
Actually, I'm only three years younger and I never really got to use computers until late in the 80's and it was pretty basic. I remember a job interview with the gov't in the 70's and we had a typing test. I could type 65 wpm but had never used an electric typewriter. I failed because I didn't know how to turn it on. Anyways that's kinda neat how you marked your bills back then.
Glad you found this site!!! Kinda like coming home!!
Go to search and serch for users in your province. Then view thei profiles and click on bills entered by that user. View the bills and the bill will show you where theyt live…
Welcoe aboard from Saskatoon the CMT capital..
Welcome to the site. As BD said go to the search page to find other users or bills.
I see that you have the city to yourself, so you have a new territory to conquer for us. It will only be a matter of time before you get your first hit and get others to join.
Although I was into computers in the 80's I never got on to Bulletin boards because of the cost. (Long distance charges because of no local BBS.) I actually never even had a modem in my main computer till last year.
Again welcome to the site, but beware it can become addicting and many of us now need therapy.
Hello from Ontario White_Owl! Welcome to the site, I'm from Exeter. Sorry never got into computers until the 90's could never afford one. Took a month and about 100 bills for my first hit! After 200 bills the hits get a little faster about 1 a week. Just mark every bill you can get your hands on and have fun in the forums waiting for the first hit!LOL
It's harder to open new territories! You can think of your self as one of the great explorers opening new land!!!
I had a TRS-80 16, back in the "old days", then we upgraded to a CO-CO2 (woohoo). I didn't get into BBSing until the mid-90's (then something called the internet came along). My husband was surprised to find Pooga here, because he'd met him years ago thru an apple BBS.
Neato on the geo-caching, just read about that in the current Discovery magazine.
Welcome aboard from Saskatoon.
Welcome to the site!
I first started in '74 on mainframes. Started with FORTRAN (WATFOR and WATFIV) and a bit of COBOL. But Sarge hooked me with his TI-99 in the early 80's, so I bought an Apple II, then graduated to Mac. Ran a BBS here from '85 to '95.
