I just checked my profile and noticed that I have not given anyone a HIT since Aug. 2 of 2007, over 2 years. During that time I have entered approximately 5000 notes, odd that I have not come across CMT notes. My own hits have dropped from an average of about 15 per month in 2007 to about 10 per month in 2009 even though I have a lot more notes in circulation, though this appears to be a common trend.

Monthly hits are down to a third of what they were in 2006.
Less hits could be saturation (posibly most people have seen marked notes), but if trackers like yourself are not even seeing someone elses notes, I would say they must be getting destroyed.

Ditto. Last year I gave 8 hits. This year, 1 (though I do recall coming across a couple marked bills which were either not entered, or entered incorrectly).
Thanks to louisesouth of Brantford, ON who gave me a hit today on a $20.00 note I entered on Aug. 4, 2005–1491 days ago (a new record for me for my longest sleeper). This seems to prove at least not all marked notes are getting destroyed. Thanks for all the comments!
