I went to the bank to get change the other day, and received eleven $5 notes, all with sequential serial numbers, and in pristine condition. Is it worth hanging onto these notes? Might they be worth something someday?
Thanks

there is always that chance. if you are insanely wealthy, it doesn't hurt to keep them for a few years (at least) – especially now with current bank interest rates being almost the same as what them sitting in your sock drawer is paying. :)
the truth is, though, that choice, uncirculated banknotes only start to get valuable after decades rather than years – again, as long as they don't turn out to be a rare serial number or special plate – and you won't know that for a couple of years, at least.
for me, personally, i know there are MANY uncirculated notes that i wished i'd kept and likely many more that i kept for, as it turned out, very little reason. often, when i get them now, i stamp them eagerly thinking that at least they are likely to stay in circulation, with my stamp on it, longer :)
Contrary to popular belief there is very little premium attached to consecutive bank notes. The exception would be, as Rudyk stated, a rare find such as a unique serial number. If the serial number doesn't look obviously special…it probably isn't.

sign them and get rid of them, how else are you going to get a hit, ya never know those might special magical notes that are begging to be set free….betcha ya they each get a dozen hits!
Thanks all, I have decided to 'tag and release' the notes.
Hopefully you will see one of them very soon…
